"The number you have dialed is currently out of reach, please try again later."

I sighed, as I put away my phone and reached out to the dresser to grab the blender. As I started blending out the foundation on my face, a text message popped up on my phone screen,

"Congratulations love, sorry for not making it to your graduation ceremony today but I promise to take you out on a date as soon as I'm done. Love you❤️"

A small smile formed on my face as I read my boyfriend's text, I replied to him quickly and got back to do my make up. I was running late as always, everyone must be waiting for me downstairs.

I quickly draped the saree and started doing my hair. I left my hair open and brushed through them to detangle the hair. Then, I hurriedly wore my earrings and matched it with a choker. I completed my look by putting on the regalia and took one last look in the mirror before running downstairs.

"Ohho, kinni pyaari lag rahi hai meri bacchi. Nazar na lage." Dadi was awestruck. "Of course, she has my genes." Dadu had that proud look on. I bent down and touched their feet to take their blessings.

"Idhar aao, have this yoghurt and we're ready to go." Before I could say anything, mum shoved a spoonful of yoghurt in my mouth.

"Chalooo, papa is waiting for us in the car." That high-pitched voice was my brother's. We bid goodbyes to dadi-dadu and drove off to my college.

"Ain't this saree too slippery? What if you slip and your face kisses the ground, please don't embarrass us like that." My brother knows only two things, the first one's, food that he shoves down his throat and second one's, talking shit every chance he gets. I rolled my eyes. "If you don't shut your mouth this instant I'll leave you here in the middle of this road." Dad threatened.

I looked outside the window, my best friend was supposed to come to my graduation with me but her cousin got in an accident and she's staying with her currently to take care of her. The thought made me upset but nevertheless, I put on a smile. My family's here with me, I shouldn't be sad, it's my big day after all.

As we were entering the auditorium, I met my friends on the way. This auditorium brings back so many memories. My hands were sweating. I was excited yet nervous at the same time. I was finally graduating but it'd also be the last time, I would be seeing my friends.

"Sir, please look in the camera, we don't have much time left!" Photographer yelled at Rohan. "Areey yaar kya natak hai tumhara roz ka" we all laughed at how annoyed Shrishti was. We're officially taking our batch's last photograph.

"C'mon guys, it's the last time we will be seeing each other" we did our last group hug before settling down on our seats.

"Don't be nervous, everything's going to be fine." My sister reassured me. It was finally the time to receive our certifications and degree. "They'll call your name now, please don't smile like a bandar and be confident like me." Papa pinched his ear, a warning that he understands really well.

"Mumma see, do I look okay?" "Told you to not smile like a monkey." "PAPA." "Kidding na." We bickered like children throughout the whole ride back home.

The ceremony took years to finally end. I bid goodbyes to my friends for real now. I also, took at least 1000+ pics just in case the two pics that I'd be selecting don't turn out the way I want them to. You know? Just to be safe.

I stuttered while delivering my speech and it was embarrassing as hell. Thank god it ended. I can finally sleep now.

We reached home and the first thing that I did was taking off this damn saree. I got freshen up really quick and it was time to shove some food in my mouth.

"How's Abhi?" "Arey haa, I forgot about that pig." Reyansh cut off papa again. "Reyansh, did you perhaps wish to die today?" "Sorry papa" I wheezed. "He's doing great papa. His boss called him urgently for a meeting today, isiliye he couldn't make it to my graduation." He nodded. We all chatted for a bit.

"Here, take these meds to your dad, he forgot again." I handed the meds to my dad and ran back to the kitchen. "Mummaa, I was saying something." "Bolo na toh" sometimes the urge to roll my eyes gets stronger. "I'm going to surprise Abhi today toh please cancel the dinner." "WHAT?" Reyansh yelled. "Why tho? Isn't he busy today?" Ayesha asked, the only sensible being in my family. "Yes he was. He will be home in like an hour." "Tumko jana hai toh jao but we're NOT cancelling the dinner for you." "Bhukkad." "Stop it both of you. The dinner was planned for her not YOU, you're not a baby anymore rey." My sister is the only smartest person here. I gave her a knowing look and ran upstairs to get ready to meet my boyfriend, Abhishek.

I looked at myself in the mirror, I wore a white floral dress and matched it with white earrings and let my hair open. I quickly put on my heels before heading downstairs.

"Papa, I'm going to Abhi's and will be back till 10." "Take care baccha. If any inconvenience happens call me I'll come there to pick you up." I nodded and walked to my uber.

I entered the uber and shared the OTP as I told the driver to make a stop at a bakery, Abhi likes cheesecake from this specific bakery shop. After I got the cheesecake, the uber drove off to his apartment.

Abhi lives here in Delhi for his job. He is from Mumbai. We met during one of my postings. And then got to know about each other officially through my best friend, Riya. Riya and Abhishek are childhood besties. We three really get along.

My uber stopped as the destination arrived. I paid for the ride and got off the uber. I walked towards his apartment building and entered the lift. I got off the lift on the 6th floor and walked towards his apartment.

I had a second key to his apartment so I took it out and unlocked the door. As I entered, I closed the door behind me as slowly as possible, in order to avoid any kind of noise. I turned around to take off my heels at the entrance, when I spot her heels and my heart stops.
